An exciting and a fun interview with Mr. Navneet from PageTraffic on different dimensions of entrepreneurship is insightful for every individual on the path of learning.
PageTraffic was incorporated at a time when Digital Marketing was not much heard of in India in the year 2002. This 16 year old company was founded by CEO Navneet.

How did the idea germinate?
Navneet says when he was a student he could clearly see the crying need of people in Online Marketing. He wanted to help the online community and with intent he started PageTraffic. Till date, PageTraffic has catered to across 6000 clients from 36 countries and has truly made a global impact.

What were the challenges PageTraffic faced in its initial years?
Navneet emphasizes the market was new and there was no formal course in area of digital marketing then and it was challenging to hire talent. People wanted a more fancy-title and did not want to be identified as Online Marketers. They overcame this challenge by hiring freshers and gradually moulded them.

Few words about the culture of your organization.
PageTraffic survived in spite of initial hiccups and is now a thriving organization with a team strength of 55 people. Navneet says they always believed in evolving, learning and adapting. They “Dare to be different”.

 PageTraffic has a “Happy Breakfast day” where 3 team members host a breakfast for Rs. 40 to the entire team with the condition of no repeatability. There is also a voting practice after breakfast. Navneet says it is interesting to note the behaviourial pattern even in a fun activity like this. Some teams push the activity till the last minute, some are involved right from beginning. The team spirit is very evident in such fun activities which have become a celebration.

How do you identify signs of a disengaged employee?

How do you deal with it?
We do have open discussion and do our best to get them back in the stimulating environment. However when I find that that a team member is not happy and not making difference to our customers. I tell them “Nobody is married to a job, Just Move on”

Dishonesty. Navneet says - It is okay to be honest and deal with unfavorable situation or mistakes rather than to cover it up. He believes it is easier to say ‘NO’ rather than to say “YES”.

What would be your advice to budding entrepreneurs?
·       Don’t give up. Continue with the same passion.
·       Focus on the pain-point which you are solving.
