In
conversation with Zeeshan, Head- Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion and CSR – Intuit India, I had the opportunity to
understand some of INTUIT’S best practices. Well, one of the most wanted
questions buzzing in most minds. Here we go “what are few of the things that
make Intuit the best place to work?”
10% of Worktime – unstructured time
Zeeshan
revealed “An amazing concept wherein the employee is free to pursue anything
that interests them in the 10% time at work”. I felt that It is like getting a
paid holiday time every day. A brilliant concept which opens up a wide variety
of opportunities.
Care for Mental Well-being
It was such a
pleasure to note from Zeeshan who spoke very openly about the mental health and
well-being of employees. He pointed out to the meditation space in workplace
which employees are encouraged. A positive step like meditation and mental
well-being goes a long way in shaping up the workforce.
Dignity in workplace for especially
abled people
A heartening
experience to hear from Zeeshan that INTUIT has given employment persons who
are 100% visually impaired. They are performing extremely well and many
companies seek out to INTUIT to understand how to make these special persons
inclusive in the workplace. Zeeshan narrates an incident when he heard one such
employee, speaking, about how he got his dignity back due to an employment
opportunity with Intuit.
Participative Engagement
Zeeshan
revealed that most of the engagement activities are driven by employee
themselves and thereby there is lot of enthusiasm and attendance for these
activities. The Diversity Networks touch upon various forms of Diversity and
has Employees playing a major role as network leaders.
Impacting Ecosytem
Zeeshan says
that the company would like to impact the ecosystem through various CSR
initiatives. One that remains in my mind is the leadership mentoring to Women
Entrepreneurs who are passionate about their business by INTUIT leaders. Intuit in partnership with an NGO are helping
them to generate ways of making profit. Intuit
RISE – a CSR on-going six months program that supports 20 Women Entrepreneurs who
have been shortlisted across India and has committed to grow their business
through mentoring, global advisors and certification from IIMB to increase
revenue.
Among the
many “WOWS” which the company has to
offer, these were some which remained on the top of my mind as I pen it down. I
thank Zeeshan for being extremely kind, accommodative and sensitive in his
whole approach towards the interview session. I thank the persons who took
clicked the picture.Wishing the entire team of INTUIT, a flourishing journey in
the years to come.
